The historical and religious significance
It is believed that on this sacred night, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered the city of Makkah. Another well-known tradition narrates that Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa, the wife of the Prophet, once woke up to find him missing. Searching for him, she later discovered him in Medina’s cemetery, deeply engrossed in prayer, seeking forgiveness for departed souls.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is quoted in a hadith as saying regarding this night: “There is no question that Allah surrounds everything on the fifteenth night of Sha’aban with His mercy. With the exception of mushriks (polytheists) and people whose hearts are filled with animosity or hatred against others, He pardons all of His creation. (2:18). Al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib.
