People travelling to Prayagraj to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 are experiencing heavy traffic on their routes. However, congestion on UP roads has not only caused inconvenience to devotees but also locals.
In a recent case, a journalist named Rajesh Sahu reported that vehicles heading for a wedding celebration were stuck in a traffic jam. He stated only two of 20 vehicles managed to beat the vehicular rush and arrive at the wedding venue in Prayagraj city. It was not clear whether the bride and groom were seated in these two vehicles or stuck in a long congestion.

Only 2 of 20 vehicles beat traffic to reach wedding venue
Throwing light on the extreme traffic situation on UP roads connecting Prayagraj, Sahu wrote, “In Prayagraj, for those whose wedding is in the city, 20 vehicles are leaving for the wedding procession. 2 vehicles are reaching the guest house. The remaining 18 are stuck in the traffic jam”.
His X post pointed out that the road scenes in Sangam city are worrisome, making people reach their destination as late as 2 AM. “Sometimes the wedding guests are reaching at 2 am. Many people have become so advanced that they are leaving for the wedding procession taking 3 hours of extra time to get stuck in traffic jam”, Sahu wrote.
Shaadi postponed?
Taking note of the traffic situation in this case, where only two of the total 20 vehicles reached the wedding venue, netizens guessed the celebration might get postponed. “Bina band aur ghode k barat a rhi wrna postponed b ho rhi door ki baaraat hai jinki (The procession is coming without band and horse, otherwise it is getting postponed)”, netizens wrote.
