Murshidabad violence: Since the amendment of the Waqf Act, violence has been taking place in West Bengal. There was severe violence in Murshidabad for the second consecutive day today. The police system has completely failed to stop the violence, while today a father and son were murdered by a mob. Three people have died in the Murshidabad violence so far. There have been incidents like sabotage, stone pelting, arson and train stop in Murshidabad. Many government offices were damaged. There were also attacks on the police. According to media reports, the incident is from Jafarabad area near Shamsherganj, where in the afternoon, a mob attacked a village and killed his father and son. Section 163 has been imposed in Murshidabad after the violence and orders have also been given to close the internet.

On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shubhendu Adhikari demanded the deployment of central forces in the state. Central forces will be deployed in Murshidabad following the Calcutta High Court order. The Center is sending 16 companies of paramilitary forces to West Bengal. An estimated 1600 paramilitary forces will be deployed in the violence affected area. These companies are reaching the place.

According to local reports, the mob attacked with the intention of looting. The father and son opposed the mob and were brutally beaten to death. The names of the deceased are Hargovind Das and Chandan Das. Yesterday, a young man involved in the protest was shot by the police. Later today the young man died during treatment.

More than 150 accused arrested

It is noteworthy that violence erupted in Bengal even after the prayers of Jumme yesterday. In which arson was set by the crowd at many places. There were also clashes between the crowd and the police at many places. Many shops and vehicles were also heavy damaged. The mob also set fire to police vehicles and posts. The DGP of West Bengal said that the situation is tense, but under control. The DGP said that they are taking help from BSF posted locally and more than 150 accused have been arrested. The police have appealed to the public not to pay attention to the rumors being spread on social media. In view of the situation, special forces have been deployed in Murshidabad.

As long as I am alive, Waqf law will not be applicable in Bengal: Mamta Banerjee

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has promised those who commit violence that this law will not be implemented in the state. Mamta Banerjee has said, ‘We have not made the law you are angry about, the central government has made it. Therefore, ask for answers from the central government. We have said that if this law is not being implemented in the state, then why is violence happening? Every person’s life is precious. Do not do anything wrong in the name of religion. Mamta Banerjee alleged that the opposition parties of the state are inciting violence.
