Police has got a big success in the embarrassing rape case at Swargate Bus Stand in Pune, Maharashtra , 37 -year -old accused Dattatreya Ramdas Gade has been arrested. He went to eat food at someone’s house late at night and the same person informed the police about him. The accused was arrested on Thursday (27 February) night and today (28 February) he will be produced in Pune court.
The police has declared a reward of one lakh rupees on the accused.
Several cases including theft, robbery and chain snatching have already been registered against accused Dattatreya Ramdas Gade. He was out on bail in a criminal case since 2019. The accused was absconding for the last two days, after which the police formed 13 special teams to search for him. In this case, the Pune police had also declared a reward of one lakh rupees for giving information about the accused.
What is the whole matter?
Swargate in Pune is one of the largest bus depots of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). According to the victim, she was waiting for the bus to go to the clutches of Satara district at 5.45 am on Tuesday morning. Then the accused talked to him, called him Didi and said that the bus going to Satara has come to another stand.
In her statement to the police, the victim said, “He (accused) took me to the empty Shiva Shahi AC bus parked elsewhere in the bus stand.” She was hesitating to climb the bus, as the lights of the bus were not burning, but the person assured her that this is the right vehicle. After this, the accused chased me and raped me.
The government will try to get the accused death penalty!
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed deep concern over the incident. He said, “The government will make every effort to ensure that the accused are sentenced to death.” Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MLA Nilesh Rane has advocated the restoration of the encounter squad in the state to prevent such crimes.
