Haryana BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli’s troubles are about to increase as rape allegations have been leveled against him. Badauli, former MLA from Rai seat of Sonipat district, was given the responsibility of state president just before the assembly elections. Under his leadership, BJP formed the government in Haryana for the third time despite adverse circumstances, which earned him a lot of praise. However, after serious allegations like rape, his image has taken a big blow, and his political career may be in trouble.
Prominent faces of Brahmin politics
62-year-old Mohan Lal Badauli is a resident of Badauli, Sonipat and is a farmer and businessman by profession. According to the 2024 election affidavit, the assets of 10th pass Badauli are more than Rs 16 crore. He is a Brahmin by caste and also has deep connections with the RSS. Badauli has been a member of the RSS since 1989 and has previously served as BJP district president and mandal president of Sonipat. He was given ticket from Sonipat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but he had to face defeat.
He was defeated by Satpal Brahmachari of Congress by 21,816 votes. In the 2019 assembly elections, Badauli won from Rai seat of Sonipat, while Rai was considered a Congress stronghold. In 2020, BJP made him the District President of Sonipat and in 2021 appointed him State General Secretary.
Congress’ aggressive stance
Haryana Congress has attacked BJP after a case of rape of a girl was registered against Haryana BJP State President Mohan Lal Badauli in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. This FIR has been registered in Kasauli police station of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. Haryana Congress State President Udaybhan and MP Deependra Hooda have said that with the registration of FIR against Badoli on serious charges of gangrape, the real face of BJP has been exposed, which talks about gait, character and face.
