Bhopal: A shocking incident has come forward from Madhya Pradesh where a 41-year-old man, Ramesh Singh, previously acquitted of a death sentence for raping an eight-year-old girl in 2018 is now accused of raping an 11-year-old hearing- and speech-impaired girl in Rajgarh district.

The orphaned girl, who was also severely malnourished, tragically died in a Bhopal hospital on February 7 after fighting for her life for four days. Following the incident on February 1, police formed 16 dedicated teams and sifted through evidence from 136 CCTV cameras, eventually zeroing in on 41-year-old Ramesh Singh, a serial offender known for abducting and raping minors.

MP Man Rapes And Kills 11-Year-old Orphan

Singh abducted the girl from her hut in Narsinghgarh, and she was found injured in nearby bushes the next day. Despite immediate medical attention, her condition, worsened by malnutrition, proved fatal. The police launched a nationwide manhunt, which led them through Rajasthan and UP as Singh fled to Prayagraj after the crime. He was tracked down thanks to a borrowed cell phone call to his wife. Ultimately, police apprehended him on February 18 near the Rajasthan border.

During interrogations, Singh reportedly expressed no remorse for his actions, detailing the assault and a failed attempt to kill the girl to avoid detection, referencing his past experience leading to his previous death penalty. This case raises serious concerns about the safety of children and rehabilitation of offenders within the legal system.

Special Investigation Team Set

According to Rajgarh district SP Aditya Mishra, a special investigation team (SIT) has been established to interrogate Singh, who has a troubling criminal history involving crimes against minors from 2003, 2014, and 2025. The SIT plans to create a DNA profile for Singh and compare it with evidence from other unresolved rape cases nationwide to determine if he has committed similar offenses elsewhere.

Previous Cases On Serial Rapist Ramesh Singh

Singh, originally from Avantipura Badodia in Shajpur district, was first arrested in 2003 for the rape of a five-year-old girl, resulting in a ten-year prison sentence. After his release in 2013, he abducted and raped an eight-year-old girl in 2014. Although he was sentenced to death for this crime, the Madhya Pradesh High Court later overturned the conviction due to procedural irregularities, allowing him to walk free.

Singh Might Have Raped His Youngest Daughter

Current investigations have revealed disturbing allegations that Singh may have sexually abused his own youngest daughter multiple times when she was 12-13 years old. Singh, a habitual drug addict, is known to dress as a woman regularly. Additionally, concerns surrounding his family have emerged, particularly regarding the mysterious death of his mother in their village while his father lived apart, fearful of Singh. The ongoing police inquiries include extensive questioning of Singh and his family, with significant public and legal attention on the convictions from his past.
