News India Live, Digital Desk: In April, Foreign Investors (FPIs) made a brilliant comeback to the Indian stock market and accelerated shopping in the market. According to market experts, foreign portfolio investors have been positive in the last two weeks, which has increased the market. Weakness in US dollar, review of global tariff agreements and increased confidence in the strength of the Indian economy have attracted the attention of foreign investors to India.

Possibility of increase in economy more than 6%

Manoj Purohit, a partner and leader of BDO India’s FS Tax, Tax and Regulatory Services, has said that despite the slow growth in big economies like the US and China, India is moving firmly. India’s economic growth rate is estimated to be more than 6 percent in FY 2026. In such a situation, India will remain the fastest growing major economy in the world, which is proving to be an attractive option for foreign investors.

5,520 crore net investment in April

By the last trading session of this month, FPI purchased a total of Rs 22,716.43 crore in the Indian stock market, while selling shares worth Rs 17,196.33 crore. Thus, the net investment of foreign investors in April stood at Rs 5,520.1 crore.

In the second fortnight of March last month, foreign investors had increased investment in select sectors. BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance) sectors were the highest investment, where a purchase of $ 2,055 million was recorded as compared to a sales of $ 380 million. Telecom, metal and mining sectors also saw a net investment of $ 360 million and $ 219 million respectively.

How will the attitude of foreign investors be ahead?

Market experts believe that in the coming time, foreign investors will remain enthusiastic towards the Indian market. The government’s commitment to strong economic foundations, policy reforms, improvement in digital infrastructure and “Ease of Doing Business” is promoting investors’s trust. India’s ability to perform better performance amidst stable economic growth and global instability, making it an attractive option for investment.
