Team India was almost certain to reach the final of the World Test Championship 2023-25.but India’s situation has become critical after the 0-3 clean sweep in the recent home Test series against New Zealand. After this, even on the Australia tour, the team had to face 1-3 defeat in the five-match Test series, due to which it was decided to be out of the race for the finals.

In his column for the Sydney Morning Herald Sunil Gavaskar Wrote, “Now that Team India has not qualified for the final of the World Test Championship 2023-25, the next World Test Championship cycle will start in June. I would not be surprised if the Indian selectors take some tough decisions. They have to consider which players can take India to the final of the World Test Championship in 2027.”
Gavaskar’s words are being considered as a warning for Rohit and Virat. Virat Kohli Scored 190 runs at an average of 23.75 in the Test series against Australia, while Rohit Sharma Scored only 31 runs in three test matches. The failure of both the senior batsmen to maintain consistency in Test cricket has become a big concern for Team India.
