Sachin Ashok Sharma (IRTS 2008), Secretary to General Manager/WR participated in the challenging Jaisalmer Ultra Marathon 2024 held from 14th to 15th December, 2024. He ran the challenging 160 km ultimate endurance race and completed it in 23 hours.
According to Vineet Abhishek – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Shri Sharma successfully completed the 160 km Ultra Marathon in 23 hours on 15th December, 2024. Sharma has gained the distinction of being the first Indian Railways officer to successfully complete this great Ultra Marathon race.
In the past, Sharma has also competed in the 42 km Ladakh Full Marathon in 2022, the 72 km Khardung La Challenge and the 42 km Ladakh Full Marathon in 2023, COMRADES Marathon (86 km) held in South Africa & the Silk Route Ultra Marathon held at Ladakh in this year, besides a host of other Ultra and other Marathons and Triathlons across the country. Western Railway congratulates Shri Sharma for this remarkable feat and wishes him success for the upcoming races.
