Maharashtra Forest Minister and Guardian Minister of Palghar District, Ganesh Naik listens to senior citizens’ demands during Janata Darbar in Vashi | X – @NaikSpeaks

Navi Mumbai: Senior citizens’ concerns and demands were presented to Maharashtra Forest Minister and Guardian Minister of Palghar District, Ganesh Naik, during his Janata Darbar today.

The issues were raised by Suresh Pote, President of the Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Division of the Maharashtra Senior Citizens Federation (FESCOM), who also submitted a formal memorandum to the minister.

During the discussion, Pote highlighted the need for Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) buses to be provided once a year for senior citizens’ excursions and leisure center visits. The minister was requested to provide access to Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium once a year for events organized by FESCOM. Additionally, pending demands related to state and central government policies concerning senior citizens were also submitted during the meeting.

Corporator Netra Shirke is informed to have facilitated the meeting between senior citizens and the minister. Several federation members, including Vice President Prabhakar Gumaste, Gaikwad, Sawant, and Ranjit Dixit, were present at the event.

The Janata Darbar saw a large turnout, with Minister Ganesh Naik acknowledging the concerns and directing Additional Commissioner Pawar to take immediate steps to address them. The minister was also felicitated by FESCOM with a shawl and a bouquet in appreciation of his support for senior citizens.
