Both these reasons have also affected the education structure of the country. Important decisions have been taken regarding holidays and conduct of classes in schools from Delhi to West Bengal.
Delhi: Summer holidays before scheduled time, but studies continue
Summer holidays have been announced in all government schools in the capital Delhi from 11 May to 30 June. That is, schools will remain closed for a total of 51 days, however, this order does not apply to private schools. The Directorate of Education has clarified that if the weather conditions are not favorable, the holiday period can be further extended.
Remedial classes will be organized to ensure that students of class 9th, 10th and 12th are not affected. These special classes will run from 7:30 am to 10:30 am from May 13 to May 31 to protect the children from the scorching sun in the afternoon. Mathematics and science will be taught as a compulsory subject, while the third subject will be decided according to the need of the school.
Mock drill preparations in 660 schools and 40 major markets
In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, security agencies have issued a high alert in Delhi. Mock drills have been prepared in 660 schools and 40 major markets in the capital. Its purpose is to make students and teachers aware of safety measures in emergency situations.
West Bengal: Holidays declared a week ago
At the same time, the West Bengal government has started the heat holidays of schools a week before the scheduled date, keeping in mind the warning of security agencies and the advice of the Meteorological Department. Now the holidays will be effective from May 9. This decision has been taken as a precaution in view of the possible threat.
Schools Closed: Study in online mode begins
Many well -known private schools in Delhi, realizing the seriousness of the situation, have started conducting classes in online mode. Institutions such as DPS Vasant Kunj, Indraprastha World School in Paschim Vihar and Queen Mary School have started virtual classes since Friday. These schools believe that the safety of students is the top priority, so online system has been implemented without delay of a day.
