School Holiday: Summer holidays start in all government schools in Delhi, schools closed for 51 days

Delhi The heat has reached its peak and in view of this, the Directorate of Delhi Education has announced a summer holidays in all government schools. According to the order issued, government schools in Delhi will remain closed for 51 days from May 11 to June 30, 2025. However, students of 9th, 10th and 12th grade will continue during this period.

Which students will continue their studies?

The Directorate of Education has clarified that remedial classes will be organized from May 13 to May 31 for board classes and important grade students. These classes will be held from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, so that students can be saved from heat. Science and mathematics will be taught as a compulsory subject in these classes, while the third subject will be decided by the school principal.

Special arrangement for double shift schools

In schools where two shifts are studied, classes will be conducted in different wings for the convenience of students. This will reduce the crowd and study in a better way.

School Holiday: Possibility of increasing holidays

If the temperature is high even by the end of June, the holiday duration can be extended. In such a situation, it can also be decided to start online classes. However, these instructions will be applicable only to government schools. Private schools can decide their holidays independently.

India-Pakistan tension is also affected

Orders have been issued to close schools for 2-3 days in several states amidst India-Pakistan tension. Summer holidays in West Bengal were to begin on 16 May 2025. But now the Mamta government has changed the date of summer holidays. Summer holidays have started in all schools in West Bengal since 9 May 2025. This decision has been taken in view of the situation of war between India and Pakistan.
