Saudi Arabia News: Saudi Arabia is not only the exporter of crude oil but also dates. Saudi Arabia exports 70 percent of its dates as Ramadan, a holy month associated with Islam, is going to start in a few days. During the 30 days of Ramadan, dates are considered a special fruit, which greatly increases its importance.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, dates exports have increased by 5.4 percent as compared to 2022. Date -trade exports are 1.28 billion Saudi riyal or US $ 340 million. The state has exported more than 300 types of dates. According to the International Trade Center, Saudi Arabia ranks first in 113 countries in terms of trade value.
Surprisingly, Saudi Arabia not only sells dates but also sends them as a gift on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Saudi Arabia has sent a total of 700 tonnes of dates as a gift to governments of 102 countries this year. The tradition of giving dates as a gift has also been maintained every year. The event is overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia.
