The sarpanch of Massajog village in Ket taluka, Beed district, Santosh Panditrao Deshmukh, was kidnapped and murdered in Kej taluka on Monday. Upon receiving the information, the relatives of the deceased and the villagers gathered in large numbers at the Kej police station and the sub-district hospital. They demanded that the murderers be arrested immediately and stern action be taken against them.

Deshmukh and his cousin, Shivraj Deshmukh, were returning from Ket to Massajog village on Monday afternoon in their car (MH45 B 3032). Shivraj was driving the car, and Santosh was sitting next to him. Suddenly, a Scorpio Jeep (MH44 Z 9333) followed their car and stopped near Dongaon Phata on Massajog Road.

Six individuals exited the Jeep, dragged Santosh out of the car, severely beat him, and then took him in the Jeep, fleeing towards Kej city.

Upon receiving the information, the police formed two teams and began a search operation. The police team found Santosh Deshmukh’s body at Dekhna Phata on Kej-Nandur Ghat Road. The body was immediately taken to the Kej Sub-district hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The police are further investigating the case.

Girl alleges confinement for four days

An 18-year-old girl has alleged that she was confined by her friend for four days in a house in Azad Chowk area. The girl somehow managed to escape and reached the Jawaharnagar police station with the help of the residents. The accused boy is at large since then.

According to the details, the girl lives in a posh locality in Mumbai and is presently pursuing her education in a reputed college in Mumbai. Around eight months back she met a boy from Azad Chowk in the city on social media and they started chatting with each other. However, the boy using some of her photographs started blackmailing her.

Four days back, the girl came to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to meet the boy. He took her to her house and confined her there for four days, the girl alleged. She managed to escape from the house and tried to reach the police station. The boy chased her and stopped her at Gajanan Maharaj Road. Both of them started quarrelling and the nearby residents gathered on the spot. The boy then fled from the scene and the residents took her to the Jawaharnagar police station, where she told her miseries to the police. 

Two stabbed in Kailashnagar over petty reason

A group of youths attacked the members of a family over petty reasons at Kailashnagar on Monday evening. Two persons were severely injured in the knife attack made by the youths. The incident has created panic in the area and the residents are now questioning the fear of the criminals. The suspected accused have been identified as Aniket and Rohan. The youths injured in the attack are Vishal Snajay Pithle (29, Dattanagar) and Ramesh Babru Pithle (43, Dattanagar).

According to the details, Vishal’s younger brother Nitin (name changed) was going home on his motorcycle on Monday evening. Accused Rohan and his friends were standing at Ashok Chowk, when Nitin’s motorcycle mildly dashed to Rohan. A quarrel erupted between him and Rohan. Nitin called his brother Vishal and uncle Ramesh on the spot and they tried to convince Rohan. A quarrel erupted between the two groups. The attackers stabbed Vishal and Ramesh and both of them sustained serious injuries. The video of the incident went viral on social media in the evening like fire. Both the injured were rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, where they are presently being treated.

Meanwhile, based on the complaint lodged by Pithle, a case has been registered with the Jinsi police station against eight accused.
