Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut slammed Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar for his recent ‘no farm loan waiver’ statement, calling it ‘anti-farmer’ and ‘insensitive’.

A few days ago, Ajit Pawar commented: “Did you ever hear me mention loan waiver in my election speeches?” The remark triggered fierce backlash from opposition parties, with critics accusing him of backtracking on farmers’ welfare commitments.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut escalated the attack, demanding Pawar’s resignation for allegedly reneging on electoral promises.

“Finance Minister Ajit Pawar’s language during the elections was different from what he is saying now. The same applies to Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. They had promised loan waivers for farmers and financial support of Rs2,100 to women with strong emphasis. Now, Pawar has backtracked. If he cannot fulfill these promises, he should resign on moral grounds,” Raut said.

Raut also took a dig at Shinde, questioning his stance on the issue. “Shinde has said that promises will be fulfilled no matter what. But when Pawar and Fadnavis are refusing the loan waiver and financial aid, how does he plan to keep his word? If he truly stands by his commitments, he should go on a hunger strike outside Devgiri (Ajit Pawar’s official residence).”

If he considers himself the ‘Ladka Bhau’ of the people, he must fight for their rights. A true Shiv Sainik never backs down from a protest. Farmers are being deceived, and women are left waiting for their promised support,” Raut added.
