Sanjay Chordiya, the founder-president and chairman of Suryadatta Education Foundation and Bansi-Ratna Charitable Trust, was conferred with the prestigious CSR Heroes Award 2025 by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan in Mumbai on Feb 4. The award recognises Chordiya’s contributions to education through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The award ceremony, held at ITC Grand Central, Parel, also honoured several organisations and individuals for outstanding CSR work. Among those present were Seema Singh, founder and trustee of Meghashrey Foundation and promoter of Alkem Laboratories, Shishir Bajaj, chairman of Bajaj Foundation, and representatives from JSW Foundation, the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, PNG Jewellers, L&T Group, Tata Motors, SBI Foundation, Dr D.Y. Patil Group, Crompton & Greaves, and Grant Medical Foundation.
Chordiya was recognised for his initiatives in providing education across all strata of society, irrespective of caste, creed, financial status, or gender. His efforts include sponsoring the higher education of over 2,500 working professionals under the ‘Learn While You Earn’ scheme, offering skill-based education, and providing English and computer training to underprivileged students.
He has also spearheaded initiatives such as free bicycle distribution to over 500 students from rural and tribal areas, medical and social awareness camps, and support through various social welfare banks, including food, clothing, knowledge, and blood banks. Additionally, his work in incubating startups has contributed to sustainable social rehabilitation and empowerment.
The event celebrated philanthropists and corporate visionaries whose CSR efforts have created a lasting impact across industries and the social sector.
