A 45-year-old finance professional killed himself by suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of his office building at Sutgirni Chowk. The incident came to the fore at around 2.40 am on Sunday. Moreover, he wrote a suicide note for his daughter stating that he will soon meet her and she should study and become an officer. The deceased has been identified as Sumesh Suresh Mahajan (45, Shardashram Colony). The police suspected that he killed self by suicide due to personal and professional stress.
Mahajan has a office in Sutgirni Chowk. On Sunday afternoon, he had lunch at his house as usual and went to his office as usual. He comes home usually by 10 pm. As he did not return till 11 am, his family members started searching him. At around 1 am, his family members went to his office and found him in the injured condition. The family members took him to hospital, but he had died until then.
Sumesh had called his daughter at around 9 pm and talked with hier for some time. Later, when his wife called him at 11 pm, there was no response. His car was parked in the parking lot and the keys and phone were in the office.
The police have found a suicide note, in which he had addressed his daughter stating that he loves her the most and she should understand him for taking this drastic step as he is fed up of constant struggle. He advised her to study hard and become an officer. He asked her to look after her mother and stated that they will meet again. Sumesh is survived by wife, two daughters and mother.
