Comedian Samay Raina faced another setback amid the ongoing India’s Got Latent controversy after his shows in Delhi, scheduled for March 21 and 23, have now been cancelled. The show, titled ‘Unfiltered’, has been cancelled despite being sold out completely via advanced bookings.
The shows were scheduled to be held at Delhi’s Talkatora stadium on March 21 and 23. Official ticketing partner, BookMyShow, sent out a message to all those who had booked passes for the event. “Your Samay Raina Unfiltered – Talkatora Stadium Show scheduled on Fri Mar 21 2025 (or Sun Mar 23 2025) 7:00 PM at Talkatora Stadium Delhi has been cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have processed the refund for the amount…The refund should reflect in 7 to 10 working days,” the message read.
While the organisers have not mentioned the exact reason behind the cancellation, Samay too is yet to react to the setback.
For those unversed, Samay has been in Canada for his live shows ever since the India’s Got Latent controversy erupted in India. He also cracked a joke over the controversy at one of his shows and said, “Iss show pe bahut mauka ayega, jahan aapko lag sakta hai ki main bahot funny kuch bol sakta hoon, par tab Beerbiceps ko yaad kar lena bhai… Shayad samay kharab chal raha hai mera, par yaad rakhna doston, main samay hoon.”
After the controversy, multiple FIRs were filed against Samay and he sought time till March 17 due to his prior commitments to appear before the authorities and record his statement.
In the meantime, he has deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel. “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you (sic),” he wrote in his sole statement on the controversy.
