Comedian Samay Raina appeared before Maharashtra Cyber Cell officials at their Mahape office in Navi Mumbai on Monday regarding an FIR filed against him in the India’s Got Latent controversy. After 5-6 hours of questioning, Raina was seen leaving the premises.

The comedian had been unable to record his statement earlier as he was abroad when the FIR was initially filed, despite multiple summons from authorities.

Earlier, the cyber cell had already recorded statements from other show participants including Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani regarding the controversial episode that sparked nationwide outrage.

About the Controversy:
The Samay Raina-hosted show India’s Got Latent faced backlash after podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?” This remark led to multiple FIRs being registered against Raina, Allahbadia, and others associated with the show in Maharashtra and Assam, with accusations of promoting obscenity.
