The fan following of Sam Konstas, who plays for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League (BBL), has increased rapidly since December 26. Recently, in the last two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, he opened the innings with Usman Khawaja. Constas, who scored a half-century in his debut match, however, could not perform much in the three innings.
Constas was also in the news because of his clash with India’s star batsman Virat Kohli in his debut Test. He played only two Test matches, but remained in the headlines for his batting as well as his attitude. Recently, while trying to get a photo clicked with him, a fan did something which could have caused a major accident.
The footage of a CCTV camera near Cricket Central is going viral rapidly. The video shows that Sam Constas was entering the stadium with his cricket kit, when a fan ran after him without parking his car properly in order to click his photo. Suddenly the vehicle started moving from its place, due to which there was a possibility of a major accident.
However, the fan soon realized his mistake and immediately stopped the vehicle. The car only collided slightly with the vehicle in front, due to which a major accident was averted.
There was also a heated argument between Sam Constas and Virat Kohli on the first day of the Boxing Day Test, when Virat hit Constas on the shoulder. Afterwards, Constas said that whatever happens on the field, ends there.
