This week is proving to be very difficult for superstar Salman Khan’s fans. Salman, who is happy by giving a film to the audience every year on Eid, has given his fans a gift to his fans on Eid this year. The film did not receive a lot of positive response from critics to public.
Declining stardom
Earlier, Salman’s last film released on Eid was ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Kisi’. ‘Alexander”s earnings are seen to be better than someone’s brother someone’s life’. But the way Salman’s new film has been disappointed with the common audience and even his fans, he is very sad. Salman’s fan following is considered the strongest among the three mines of Bollywood, Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh, who had been the prominent superstar of Bollywood since the 90s. The direct proof of this is that despite the negative review of critics and negative response to the audience, ‘Alexander’ has earned Rs 86 crore in 3 days. But after ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, Salman’s career presents a worrying picture for Bollywood fans. In which his superstar glow is fading.
Stardom rests on the old swag
2017 is a historic year for Salman’s stardom. This year his film ‘Tubelight’ did not live up to the expectations of the audience. But this year Salman’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ drew a huge crowd in theaters. Since the film had grossed around 340 crores, Salman Khan is still the top star to gross more than 300 crores. Prior to ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, his films ‘Sultan’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ also crossed the net collection figure of Rs 300 crore.
There is no enthusiasm towards new films.
The 300 crore club started with Aamir Khan’s film ‘PK’. But Salman reached the top in just 3 years. Shahrukh had not even entered this club yet. This was the real peak of Salman’s superstardam. But after this, nothing new, unique or exciting among the films he did. After 2017, Salman has mostly appeared in the sequel to his old films. ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ was the sequel to it, after which he has appeared in ‘Dabangg 3’, ‘Race 3’ and ‘Tiger 3’. His new film ‘Radhe’ is also based on the 2009 blockbuster ‘Wanted’. Seeing the opinion of the people about this film, it seems that this film came on the OTT, not in theaters during lockdown.
The condition of new films without franchise is also bad.
After 2017, Salman’s latest films include ‘Bharat’, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Jaan’ and ‘Sikander’. It seems that all this is based on the box office success formula. Salman’s character should have been like Superman from the beginning. It should have a song for a little romance, a little patriotism, community service, a little personal or family matters, a little action and of course to dance. That is, the story was ‘designed’ keeping in mind all the likes of his previous films.
Excessive contact hunting
On one hand, Salman started appearing in similar roles on the screen. On the other hand, he was seen doing cameo in films of other stars along with his old popular characters and image. Since 2017, Salman has done 8 films as the main hero and has also appeared in his brother -in -law Ayush Sharma’s film Akshay. His role in this was helped. But his charisma was nothing short of the main hero.
Adjournment of new projects
On one hand, Salman is always seen in the same style, the same kind of presentation and character. On the other hand, the projects that were expected to be seen from a different perspective could not proceed. Salman was to play the role of an army officer in the film ‘The Bull’, produced by Karan Johar. He was going to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 30 years and was going to be seen in the romantic story film ‘Inshallah’. Recently there was a lot of discussion about his cooperation with director Atley, but Salman has confirmed that this project is not happening at the moment. On the other hand, Sajid Nadiadwala has been talking to Salman about ‘Kick 2’ for a long time. But the film has not even started yet.
