According to the Sakinaka police, they raided a mephedrone factory located inside a cement company in Vasai and seized 4 kg of drugs worth ₹8 crore. Three individuals — Sadiq Sheikh, 28, Siraj Panjwani, 57, and Syed Irani — were arrested. NDPS-related cases had already been registered against the three accused: two cases with the NCB and one with the Thane police. The main accused, Kaluram Chaudhary, is still absconding, and efforts are underway to locate him.

On April 24, Sakinaka police received information about a person conspiring to sell drugs. Acting on the tip-off, the police laid a trap at Kajupada, Sakinaka, and arrested Sheikh, a resident of Bandra West. The police seized 53 grams of MD worth approximately ₹10 lakh from him.

The investigation revealed that Sheikh was an MD drug seller and that he was supplying drugs to Siraj Panjwani, a resident of Mira Road. Subsequently, Panjwani was arrested on April 26 in Mira Road.

During Panjwani’s interrogation, it came to light that Kaluram Chaudhary had been manufacturing and selling MD. He operated the factory at Kamangaon in Vasai, inside a shed of the M.K. Green company. Although the police are searching for Chaudhary, he remains absconding.

Within 60 hours of receiving the information, the police busted the factory. Following the investigation, a raid was conducted at the MK Green factory in Vasai, where approximately 4 kg of MD drugs, two refrigerators, and a centrifugal machine used for drug production were seized. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around ₹8.04 crore, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Gunjal.

The operation was executed by Senior Police Inspector Yogesh Shinde and his team from the Sakinaka police station, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 10), Sachin Gunjal.
