Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was attacked with a knife during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence at 2 am on Thursday (January 16). Saif sustained multiple injuries, including a 10 cm neck wound and deep stab wounds near his spine. He is currently undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital.
According to Times Now, the intruder initially confronted Saif’s maid and ‘stabbed’ her. When Saif attempted to intervene and defuse the situation, the intruder turned aggressive, leading to a violent scuffle.
It was during the scuffle that Saif got injured. He was attacked by the robber with a sharp object multiple times.
The attack occurred at the Satguru Sharan building, where Saif resides with his actress-wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and sons — Taimur and Jeh.
The cops have recorded Saif’s maid’s statement. Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 9, Dixit Gedam, said, “The lady is doing fine. She is undergoing treatment at the hospital.”
According to Bandra Police, an unidentified intruder argued with Saif’s house help before the actor intervened, leading to a scuffle. The attacker fled the scene after stabbing Saif with a sharp object, which required surgery for removal. An FIR has been filed, and investigations are underway.
Dixit Gedam, confirmed, “The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and receiving treatment. Initial investigation suggests it was a lone attacker.”
Lilavati Hospital COO Niraj Uttamani revealed Saif was admitted at 3:30 am with six stab wounds, two of them deep, one dangerously close to the spine. Neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi are overseeing his care.
Saif’s PR team stated, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in the hospital undergoing surgery. We request patience as this is a police matter. Updates will follow.”
