Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), March 22: Sahil Shukla, the accused in the gruesome murder of Merchant Navy Officer, had come up with a weird demand of keeping the other accused and his lover close to him inside jail. Sahil Shukla killed Saurabh Rajput in collusion with the wife of the deceased, Muskan in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. They killed Saurabh, chopped his body into pieces and sealed it inside a drum filled with cement.
Meerut Jail Superintendent Vireshraj Sharma said in a video that Sahil demanded for an isolation barrack in jail and wanted Muskan to be kept close to him. He said, “Mahila barrack jo hoti hai, woh bilkul alag hoti hai aur purush barrack bhi bilkul alag hoti hai. Toh unko puri tarah se alag rakha ja raha hai aur puri suraksha mein rakha ja raha hai. Kisi bhi prakaar ki koi bhi kotahi suraksha mein nahi ki ja rahi hai. Jab woh pehle din aaye the parso, tab unhone khana khane se mana kar diya tha. Lekin baad mein samjhane ke baad khana kha liya tha. Ab unki dincharya aam kaidiyon ki dincharya ke anusar chal rahi hai.”
The women’s barrack is completely separate, and the men’s barrack is also completely separate, so they are being kept entirely apart and under full security. There is no negligence in security in any way. When they arrived the day before yesterday, they had refused to eat. However, after being convinced, they ate later. Now, their daily routine is following the same pattern as that of regular prisoners.
He further said, “Shuruat me jab woh aaye the toh unhone kaha tha ki humko saath me ya paas-paas rakh diya jaaye. Toh samjha diya gaya tha ki purush barrack aur mahila barrack dono alag-alag hai, isiliye saath me rakhna sambhav nahi hai. Woh saamanya hai, jail me aane se pehle doctor ko dikha diya gaya tha aur unka pura checkup karaya gaya tha. Jail me agar koi nashe ka aadmi aata hai toh uske liye karyakram chalte hain. Abhi tak aisi koi shikayat nahi aayi hai.”
In the beginning, when they arrived, they said that they should be kept together or close to each other. They were then explained that the men’s barrack and the women’s barrack are completely separate, so it is not possible to keep them together. They are normal; before coming to jail, they were shown to a doctor, and their full check-up was done. If any person addicted to drugs comes to jail, programs are conducted for them. So far, no such complaint has been received.
He also said, “Jo mahila hai, Muskan, woh mahila barrack me rahegi. Mahila barrack me hamare paas do barrack hain; jo nayi bandi aati hai, woh jis barrack me rehti hai, usi barrack me rakha gaya hai. Purush barrack me naye log jis barrack me pehle 10 din tak rakhe jaate hain, Sahil ko uss barrack me rakha gaya hai.”
The woman, Muskan, will stay in the women’s barrack. In the women’s barrack, we have two barracks; the new female inmates are kept in a specific barrack, and she has been placed in the same one. In the men’s barrack, new inmates are kept in a specific barrack for the first 10 days, and Sahil has been placed in that barrack.
Details About The Incident
Muskan and her lover identified as Sahil Shukla confessed to stabbing Saurabh to death on March 4. They further said that they then dismembered the dead body of Saurabh and placed the remains in a plastic drum and filled it with cement to conceal the crime. After committing the heinous crime, Muskan and Sahil went on a vacation to a hill station.
The murder was highlighted when Muskan’s mother went to the police and said that her daughter has murdered her son-in-law and concealed the dead body in a drum. Police arrested both the accused in the murder and took them into custody. They then led the police to the drum with the mortal remains of Saurabh inside.
