SunRisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma’s mother was over the moon as her son scored a rampant hundred during the IPL 2025 game against the Punjab Kings on Saturday. While his mother acknowledged that a small blip had come along, she expects the left-handed batter and the SunRisers to continue their winning streak moving forward.

The Orange Army broke their four-game losing streak with a commanding eight-wicket win over the Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. With a behemoth 246 left to chase down, Abhishek also overcame his lean run of form and blasted 141 off 55 deliveries with 14 fours and ten sixes.

In the video uploaded by IPL on social media, the youngster’s mother said:

“Sabko khushi hai, maa ko bhi khushi hai, pure Hyderabad ko khushi hai ki match jeete ho. Thoda stop lag gaya tha, ab nahin lagega, Lekin ab nahin lagega. Continue chalega.”

(Everyone is happy, his mother his happy and the entire Hyderabad is happy that they won the match. There was a bit of a blip but not anymore, they will win continuously now)

“I’d be lying if I say there was no pressure” – Abhishek Sharma

At the post-game presser, Abhishek Sharma revealed that he had written the note ‘This one is for Orange Army’ which he flaunted after scoring a hundred only today as he felt a big innings was around the corner. He stated, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

“I wrote it today itself because I usually wake up and write something. I got a random thought that if I do something today, that would be for Orange Army. Luckily, today I felt it was my day. I’d be lying if I say there was no pressure. There is pressure if you don’t do well in three or four innings, especially if your team’s losing.”
