South Africa defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the two-Test series at home. After winning the first match, South Africa won the second match and won the series. In this match, Ryan Rickleton scored a double century for South Africa, while captain Shan Masood scored a century for Pakistan. But Ryan’s century outweighed Shan’s reputation. However, after the match, Shaan raised questions on his dismissal. Shaan was out LBW in the second innings but was angry with the umpire’s decision and also questioned the technique.

Shane had performed brilliantly in the second innings against South Africa. After scoring a century, he was out on a personal score of 145 runs. He was hunted by 18 year old fast bowler Kwena Mafaka. One of his balls hit Shaan’s pad. South Africa appealed on this but the field umpire gave not out. After this South Africa took DRS. Then the TV umpire gave Shaan out.

On being out LBW, Shaan said, ‘It was clear and it seemed that the ball was outside the stumps. The ball did not land where Hawk Eye (technique) was showing it hitting. The ball hit the outside of my foot more than the inside. The Pakistani captain further said in his defense that the on-field umpire also thought the same and did not give out. This was not even an inswinger ball. that’s all I can say.

South Africa, batting first, scored 615 runs with the help of captain Temba Bavuma (106 runs), Kyle Varney (100 runs) and Ryan Rickleton’s 259 runs. In reply, Pakistan’s first innings ended at 194 runs. South Africa gave follow-on to Pakistan. Pakistan scored 478 runs in the second innings and gave South Africa a target of 58 runs to win, which it achieved on the first ball of the eighth over.
