London, the capital of Britain, saw a tense atmosphere on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. Khalistan supporters protested outside the Indian High Commission, which was faced by the Indian community there. The incident occurred when the Indian community gathered for the flag hoisting ceremony.
Clash between Indian community and Khalistan supporters
The Indian community united during the Republic Day celebrations and responded to anti-India demonstrations of Khalistan supporters.
- An Indian citizen told:
“We came to celebrate the 76th Republic Day in the Indian High Commission. Khalistan supporters were shouting slogans against India and our sovereignty. We unitedly faced them. Nobody can break us. “
- The second citizen said:
“Our national flag was being insulted. We were in small numbers, but our confidence and patriotism were much more than that. We will fight till our last breath. “
During the incident, both sides shouted slogans against each other. Police had to intervene to control the situation.
Emergency disruptions in the film’s performance
This is not the first time that Khalistan supporters have carried out anti -India activities. Apart from London, there have been such demonstrations in Canada.

India has lodged a strong objection to the growing anti-India activities in Britain and the disturbance of Khalistan supporters.
- Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said:
“The freedom of speech and expression cannot be implemented in a select way. Responsibilities should be punished for preventing anti -India activities and violent demonstrations. ”
India has demanded from the UK government that strict action should be taken against those obstructing the performance of the film “Emergency” and the anti-India violence.
