Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) All India Publicity Head Sunil Ambekar has expressed deep disappointment over the ongoing controversy and violence over Aurangzeb. He said that in today’s era, Aurangzeb has no relevance, yet why people are fighting with each other with his name and grave.

The statement has come in the context of the demand for Aurangzeb’s removal of Aurangzeb in Nagpur and the violence that then.
More than 30 people were injured in this clash, mostly policemen.
There is still curfew in 11 police station areas of Nagpur to control the situation.

Sunil Ambekar said:
“If Aurangzeb was still relevant today, should his grave be removed?

Aurangzeb controversy after the film ‘Chhava’

The recently released Marathi film ‘Chhava’ has given further air to the controversy.
The film shows the bravery of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his murder by Aurangzeb.
After the film’s release, several Hinduist organizations started demanding the removal of Aurangzeb’s grave in Maharashtra.

On Monday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists demonstrated in Khuldabad in Nagpur demanding the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb.
Aurangzeb’s effigy was burnt during the demonstration, but during this time the rumor spread that the religious texts were burnt.
After this, the situation became uncontrollable and arson and sabotage started in the palaces and Hanspuri areas of Nagpur.
The mob attacked the houses of the local people, stoned and set several vehicles on fire.
