In the year 2020, the Corona epidemic affected the entire world, and lockdown was implemented in many countries including India. During this time, all industries, especially the film industry, were badly affected, due to which many people became unemployed. In such a situation, famous Bollywood director Rohit Shetty decided to give work to his team and planned to make a film. The film, titled ‘Circus’, was to be released in the year 2022, but proved to be a huge flop.

Purpose of making the film:

Rohit Shetty produced this film to provide employment to the people of his unit. Famous Bollywood writer Yunus Sajwal told about this in digital commentary. He said that when the lockdown was imposed and the release of Sooryavanshi had to be postponed, Rohit contacted his production and booked Mehboob Studio for September, so that he could make an indoor film.

Film made for the welfare of the unit:

Yunus told that Rohit Shetty assured his unit that if they do not work for two years then there is no problem, but what will happen to their employees? At that time everyone was out of work and people were spending their savings. So Shetty decided to make a studio-based film, so that the financial condition of the unit members could be better.

Rohit Shetty’s generosity:

Younus also said that Rohit employed junior artistes and paid everyone on time. “He hesitated to tell anyone, but he took the burden of the film’s failure upon himself,” he said. According to Yunus, Rohit Shetty paid salaries to around 500 people. At that time all the junior artists were going through the process of checkup and vaccination, and they were hired for four months. Even if the shooting was halted, he would still be paid.
