The boxing day test between India and Australia is getting excited with just one day of the play left. After four days of action it is Australia who have their noses ahead but marginally. During the fourth days play a hilarious exchanged happened between Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

In between change of overs with Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland at crease, Virat Kohli asked Rohit as to who was bowling the next over. Rohit called Jadeja and said, “Yahan se daal ke dekh kya hota hai (bowl from this end and see what happens),” Rohit said, and added: “Aye Jaddu, daant mat dikha zyada yaar usko (don’t show him much teeth).” While it’s unclear what Rohit intended to convey with the second part, it probably meant to not reveal all your cards to the batter.

Australia on top against India

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s brilliant 114 helped India recover and reach a total of 369, but the team needed their bowlers to step up, and they did just that. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowled fiery opening spells, removing Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja early. At lunch, Australia were 53 for 2, with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne standing firm.

The partnership between Smith and Labuschagne kept the scoreboard ticking in the second session until Mohammed Siraj got Smith. The Indian pacer enticed the Australian into an expansive drive to a delivery wide outside the off-stump. The ball took a fine edge with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant taking simple catch.

Jasprit Bumrah unleashed a devastating spell that sent Australia into a tailspin. He dismissed Travis Head (1), Alex Carey (2), and Mitchell Marsh (0) in quick succession, reducing Australia from 80 for 2 to 91 for 6. The dramatic collapse saw Australia lose four wickets for just 11 runs. Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins added an unbeaten 44-run stand for the seventh wicket, trying to stabilize the innings. Australia at the end of Day 4 finished on 228/9
