The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its thrilling matches, however, this time it was the weather that took center stage. The Mumbai Indians team arrived in Delhi for their upcoming match against the Delhi Capitals and held an optional training session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which was cut short due to the weather.
Mumbai Indians’ practice session was disrupted by sudden strong and powerful winds, but Mumbai Indians’ opening batter Rohit Sharma kept the team’s spirits high despite the setback.
A video shared by Mumbai Indians shows Rohit Sharma humorously reacting to the storm, and jokingly telling the cameraman to focus on the storm instead of him. “Abey mera video kya le raha hai? Wo video le.” (Why are you taking my video? Film the storm instead.) Rohit said to the cameraman.
As the storm approached closer, Rohit Sharma jokingly yelled “Come back, come back” to his teammates, including Deepak Chahar and coach Mahela Jayawardene, as they scrambled for shelter, while he struggled to stifle his giggles.
Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians: A Crucial IPL Matchup
The highly anticipated match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians is set to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 13, 2025, at 7:30 pm. This encounter promises to be an exciting clash between two teams with contrasting fortunes this season.
Delhi Capitals have been in impressive form, winning all four of their opening matches with a strong net run rate of 1.278. Their latest victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru showcased their skills, chasing down the target comfortably to win by six wickets. With a formidable lineup featuring Axar Patel, KL Rahul, Faf du Plessis, and Mitchell Starc, Delhi Capitals are looking to continue their winning streak.
In contrast, Mumbai Indians have struggled to find their footing, managing only one win in five matches. Under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, they’ve been unable to gain momentum, currently sitting eighth in the standings with just two points. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya will need to bring their A-game to turn the tide in their favor.
