According to BCCI sources, even after retiring from T20, both are being considered in A+ grade. The board believes that both experienced cricketers have played an important role in the success of the team and they should get the identity they deserve.
In February 2024, BCCI included Virat, Rohit, Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja in Grade A+. A total of 6 players were included in Grade A. However, Shreyas Iyer’s name was not in it.
Shreyas Iyer will return
Shreyas Iyer was removed from the central contract list by the BCCI for not playing some domestic matches last year. Iyer contributed significantly to the victory by scoring 243 runs in 5 innings in the Champions Trophy 2025. He is ready to return to the central contract. According to the report, Ishaan Kishan can be excluded from the list this time too. He was also expelled along with Iyer last year. Ishaan has not played any international matches since 2023.
