The number of patients with diabetes increases rapidly

Diabetes patients should not sleep in the afternoon

According to Dr. Avhad Gorakshnath, a doctor at RV Ayurveda Hospital in Mumbai, diabetes patients should avoid sleeping in the afternoon. If there is excessive fatigue and feeling of rest, then it can be beneficial to take the left side after meals for 10 minutes.
He also told that it is necessary to walk after lunch. If you do not sleep during the day, you can get good sleep at night. It is also very important for diabetes patients to follow the right meal time:

  • Lunch should be taken till 12 noon.
  • The dinner should be finished by 8 pm.
  • One should not sleep immediately after dinner, but should keep a gap of 1-2 hours.

Drink lukewarm water, avoid cold water

According to Dr. Avhad Gorakshanath, diabetes patients should make a habit of drinking lukewarm water instead of cold water. However, drinking too much hot water can also be harmful. Before going to bed at night, water should be drunk according to thirst, forcibly drinking water should be avoided.

Apart from this, at least half an hour should be done daily, so that the blood sugar remains under control.

Yoga is necessary for diabetes patients

Yoga is helpful in controlling blood sugar. People suffering from diabetes should do yoga regularly. According to doctors, the following yogasanas can prove to be extremely beneficial:

  • Gomukh posture
  • Tadasana
  • Yoga currency
  • Kapalbhati Pranayama
  • Anulom-Antonym Pranayama
