Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh on Wednesday clarified that the government is not considering a change in retirement age (retirement age) of government employees.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, he said that the government has no plan to eliminate the vacancies arising out of the retirement of the employees.
Jitendra Singh said:
“The government does not have any proposal to change the retirement age of government employees.”
What did the government say on the demand to increase retirement age?
Did any government employee organization demand a change in retirement age?
On this, Minister Jitendra Singh said:
“No such formal proposal has been received by the employees from the National Council (Joint Advisory Mantra).”
On the question asked about inequality at the retirement age of government employees of the states, he said that the central government does not keep this data centrally, as this subject comes in the list of states.
This means that the state governments are free to decide the retirement age of their employees.
