Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): The residents of Trimurti Nagar, 90-Quarter and Krishna Colony are hardly getting electricity at a time when the Mayor and the Commissioner of Nagar Nigam have been working hard so that Jabalpur gets number one position as smart city. As soon as evening falls, darkness envelopes these three colonies because of lack of power.

It is causing troubles to the residents, especially those who are taking Board examinations which are under way. A few officials of the electricity department of Nagar Nigam never bother about the instructions of the officer of the division number six which is looking after facilities being provided to these three colonies.

Most of the streetlights have either been broken or are either out of order. According to some residents, just as the evening falls, anti-social elements gather outside or inside the colony. The residents said that there might be incidents of theft, but the officials of the electricity of Nagar Nigam hardly bother about it.

There are six linemen and supervisors, but they keep away from doing their work throughout the day. A resident of the colony Satyam Soni said there had been several accidents because of darkness at the turn of 90-Quarter.  Another resident Babloo Wain said the residents had complained to the civic body about it, but they avoided taking any action.
