Rescuers on Sunday recovered the bodies of two cousins who drowned in Kundalika River in Raigad.
Around 14 members of a family had visited the river at Mangaon in Raigad to spend some time and wash clothes, when four cousins slipped and drowned. Bodies of two were found on Saturday itself.
Siddesh Sonar (21) was the first to fall into the water, followed by his sibling Kajal Sonar (26), who jumped in to rescue her brother. Cousins Soni Sonar (27) and Siddhi Pedekar (16) too jumped to save their lives and ended up drowning.
On Saturday rescue teams had located Siddesh and Siddhi’s body. The body of the third person, Soni Sonar, was found at 11pm following which search operation was stopped.
On Sunday rescue operations resumed by 7am to locate the fourth missing person and by 10.15am, the body was found around 6 km away.
