Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The tiger, which was brought to Van Vihar after being rescued from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is having deep cut wounds around its neck.
Even it has a deep wound below its neck. Moreover, it has multiple fractures in lower part of the right leg. All these came to the fore during its examination done by a team of veterinary doctors at Van Vihar on Tuesday. The veterinary doctors first made the tiger unconscious and later inspected its entire body.
The age of the tiger is between six to seven years. It was on November 30 that the tiger was brought to Van Vihar from Bandhavgarh for treatment. After its arrival to Van Vihar, it was kept at the indoor ward. It was on Tuesday that a decision was taken to do its full body check-up.
Notably, the tiger had accidentally got trapped in the snare laid by hunters to catch an herbivore in Bandhavgarh.
As the snare fastened around its neck, the tiger might have given a strong jerk, disconnecting the snare with the trap apparatus. With snare around its neck, this tiger was moving in jungles of Bandhavgarh. It was first seen by a tourist on November 24. Later, Bandhavgarh tiger reserve officials began its search operation. It was on November 29 that forest officials rescued it and sent it to Van Vihar for treatment.
