Prayagraj, 15 December (HS). The Municipal Corporation is carrying out preparations on a large scale for the Maha Kumbh. Special care is being taken of the facilities and services of the devotees and tourists coming to Prayagraj. Preparations to facilitate all the arrangements including their living arrangements have almost been completed.

To protect the devotees coming to Prayagraj and the destitute and helpless people from cold and cold wave, the Municipal Corporation has set up temporary night shelters in different parts of the city. The permanent night shelters had already been transformed. Along with the painting work, the arrangements for curtains and cleaning were also strengthened. Eight permanent and 38 temporary night shelters have been set up across the city.

Bonfires are being lit and kitchen arrangements are also being made. Municipal Corporation’s Junior Engineer Ram Saxena said that the department makes arrangements for night shelters every year in winter. This time, in view of the Maha Kumbh, the number of temporary night shelters has been increased. Arrangements for clean mattresses, sheets, pillows, quilts and blankets along with electricity and water have been made. Keeping in view the needs of the people, kitchens have also been built in the night shelters, bonfires are also being lit to protect them from the cold.

-Pink Shelter Home for Women: The department has built 5 pink shelter homes for women, in which arrangements have been made for women and their children to stay. Along with electricity, water and other essential items, toys have also been kept for the children. Junior Engineer Ram Saxena said that special attention is being paid to cleanliness in night shelters. Along with this, books and daily newspapers are also given to read.

-Eight permanent night shelters. The total number of permanent night shelters is eight. This includes 50 people in Baghambari Gaddi Road Cholera Hospital, 30 people in Mundera Chungi, 40 people near Nurulla Road Railway Station, 40 people near Triveni Darshan Hotel near Yamuna Road Back Road, 36 people in Leader Road Near Railway Station, 80 in Cholera Hospital Allapur II. People, there is a provision of 20 people above Mira Patti Ward Office and 60 people in Nagar Panchayat Jhunsi.

Negligence not tolerated, the organization was reprimanded. Let us tell you that recently, Municipal Commissioner Chandra Mohan Garg had inspected the permanent and temporary shelter homes operated across the city. During this time, the office and mattresses, bed sheets were found dirty, water cooler and RO were found faulty in the Leader Road night shelter. Fans and TV were also found switched off. Expressing displeasure over this, the Municipal Commissioner declared the organization looking after the arrangement of night shelters defunct. The Municipal Commissioner has given strict instructions to the officials to improve the entire system of night shelters. He has said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated. The facilities provided in the night shelter should be kept in good condition so that the devotees coming to Maha Kumbh along with the general public do not face any kind of problem.
