Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): In a distressing event that marred a wedding celebration, a 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl. The incident occurred during the early hours of Friday, around 4 AM, while family members were engrossed in the festivities.
After the girl returned to her mother in tears, she revealed the horrific ordeal she had just experienced. The mother promptly reported the incident to the police, who arrested the accused.
SP Manoj Kumar Rai said that an FIR was registered against the suspect under rape sections and POCSO Act. The accused is related to the victim’s father. A medical examination of the young victim was conducted.
To ensure a thorough investigation, the case was assigned to a woman inspector. It will be presented before a fast-track court to seek justice for the innocent victim.
Minor’s pregnancy shocks parents
A man raped a minor girl under Gandhi Nagar police station limits. The incident surfaced after the girl became pregnant. Police have registered an FIR against the accused and is carrying out raids to arrest him.
According to reports, the 15-year-old victim lives in a slum area in the city. In her complaint, she said she met Vikas last year at a function. In October last year, Vikas took her to a deserted spot and raped her. The accused issued threats to the girl and raped her on multiple occasions since then. The girl’s family was shocked when they came to know that she was three months pregnant. Police officials said an FIR had been registered against the accused under POCSO Act and other relevant sections of BNS.
