UCC in Uttarakhand: Preparations are being made to implement new rules in Uttarakhand from January 26. In which new rules of Uniform Civil Code will soon be implemented in the state. For this, the Uttarakhand government has started training its officials from Monday to know about the UCC portal.

According to the rules, it will be mandatory for a live-in couple to get registered as married. Also, photo and video recording of witnesses in all types of registration, will, Aadhaar cases will be mandatory. These rules are applicable to all residents of Uttarakhand.

Officers’ training will continue till January 20

The meeting was attended by 14 officers in the presence of three sub-divisional magistrates. The training will continue till January 20. Officials were informed about the UCC portal. The UCC portal will operate in three ways. Apart from citizens, there will be different options for employees and officers.

Aadhar card will be mandatory to login to this portal. The portal will facilitate registration of marriage, divorce and live-in, termination of live-in relationship, intestate succession and declaration of legal heirs, testamentary succession, appeal in case of rejection of application, etc.

You can complain about live-in only through the portal.

Any third party objecting to marriage and live-in can lodge a complaint on this portal. To help deal with any misinformation on the portal, sub-registrars have been tasked with verifying complaints.

 

In this regard, the instructor said that the citizen making the complaint will also have to register on the portal. This will help in eliminating misinformation. Applicants from existing and new live-in couples will have to enter proof of name, age, nationality, religion, previous relationship status and phone number in the portal. Also, similar information will have to be given for marriage registration also.
