Chardham Yatra is going to start from 30 April 2025. Earlier, BKTC i.e. Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has banned videos and reel in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham. Under this, no person will be able to make video-reel within the 30 meter radius of both temples. The committee says that if anyone violates the rules, legal action will be taken against it.
What do religious etiquette and scripture say?
A large number of devotees start making videos and reel around the temple in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham. Due to which people were facing problems. Last year, the priests strongly opposed the reel construction in the Kedarnath Dham campus. Many times controversial situations were seen here. Whose videos also went viral on social media. This is the reason that this time Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee has started special preparations before the Chardham Yatra. So that the devotees do not have to face any kind of difficulty during the journey. The temple committee is also issuing guidelines for this. Questions have been raised from time to time about the justification for making video reel etc. at religious places.
When devotion becomes performance
For today’s generation, temple, mosque or pilgrimage site have become the backdrop of Instagram reel. The place of peace and meditation has now been taken by the prevailing music and stylish angles. But is it true? Due to this, the Uttarakhand administration has imposed a complete ban on making reel in Kedarnath Dham. The reason is clear: It is necessary to stop the violation of religious purity and disregard of discipline.
Is it wrong to make a reel?
There is a direct answer to this question, no. It is not wrong to make reel, but it is unfair to make reel etc. at religious places. Because it is not religious propaganda. Practice is a part of religion. If you follow the rules and make videos on religion to spread awareness and do it keeping in mind the religious purpose. So this is not wrong. But in this, the rules should be followed with full dignity and purity. For this you can broadcast it on your studio and YouTube channel.
