Ahmedabad: Indian stock market also saw a rise today due to the rise in global markets due to favorable reports including a cut in interest rates on mortgage assets by China. The BSE Sensex today reached a record high of 83,000 for the first time in history on the back of fresh buying by foreign investors. While the Nifty touched a new high of 25433 today. Today investor wealth increased by Rs. 6.60 lakh crore.

Markets in Asia and Europe rose today due to reports including China’s move to reduce interest rates on mortgage properties to boost the economy and talks between the US and China. These reports had a direct impact on the Indian stock market.

Based on these reports, the two key indices set a fresh record today, with the bullish momentum fuelled by fresh buying by investors, players and operators, including foreign investors.

Indian stock markets witnessed a stormy rally in the last hour of trading on Thursday, 12 September 2024. The Sensex rose 1,593 points or 2 per cent to an intraday high of 83,116. The Sensex crossed the 83,000 mark for the first time today. The Nifty 50 also rose 415 points to an all-time high of 25,433, crossing the 25,400 mark for the first time.

At the end of trading, the Sensex rose 1,439.55 points or 1.77 per cent to close at 82,962.71. The Nifty rose 470.45 points or 1.89 per cent to close at 25,388.90.

Investors’ wealth today rose by Rs. 6.60 lakh crore on the back of a rally in the Sensex and finally reached Rs. 467.36 lakh crore. Foreign investors today invested Rs. 7695 crore and withdrew Rs. 1800 crore while local bodies today sold Rs.

Today, aggressive fresh buying was seen in smallcap and midcap stocks. As a result, 2337 stocks closed positive on BSE. A total of 128 stocks hit all-time highs today. Out of which 29 stocks were from A group, 26 stocks were from B group and the remaining 73 stocks were from other groups.
