Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The year 2024 created unprecedented history in terms of the movements of air travellers from Devi Ahilyabai HolkarĀ (DABH) Airport in the city. Record 38,70,107 lakh air travellers travelled and 30,917 flights operated from the city airport in the calendar year 2024.
From the year 2023, 3.30 lakh more passengers travelled from here. With these figures, DABH airport has once again emerged as the busiest airport in Central India.
Airport Authority of India (AAI) released the figures for air travellers and flight movements on Wednesday. As per the figures of AAI, a total of 30,917 flights were operated from the airport between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
Similarly, a record 38,70,107 air travellers travelled from here. In terms of number of flights and passengers, these are the highest figures in the history of the city airport. In the year 2023, a total of 28,851 flights were operated and 35,39,406 travellers travelled from here.
In this way, more than 3.30 lakh travellers and more than 2,000 flights increased from the city airport in 2024 as compared to 2023. December also created history. It was the month when the highest number of passengers travelled from here.
In December 2024, the airport had the highest number of passengers. A total of 3,61,775 travellers travelled from here in December 2024. In the same month total of 2,686 flights were operated. This figure of passengers is the highest in comparison to any other month of 2024.
