How did RCB do during IPL Mega auction ?
The 2025 IPL mega auction gave RCB an opportunity to overhaul their squad. Despite some criticism over certain decisions, such as not retaining Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell, and picking Krunal Pandya for ₹5.75 crore, the management has stood firm on its approach.
One of the most notable moves was bringing back Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who started his IPL career with RCB in 2009. Kumar was bought for ₹10.75 crore during the 2025 mega auction.
Bhuvneshwar’s T20 journey with Royal Challengers Bengaluru began during the Champions League T20, where he went wicket-less. Now, 15 years later, he returns to RCB as one of the most successful seamers in T20 cricket. With a record-breaking SMAT campaign and an IPL deal to match
He expressed his gratitude towards the fans for their support and shared his excitement about the upcoming season. With 14 years of IPL experience and a remarkable record of 181 wickets at an economy rate of 7.56. Bhuvneshwar’s move to RCB adds significant depth to their pace attack, where he will join forces with the likes of Josh Hazlewood.
