Veteran Bollywood actor Raza Murad revealed a shocking episode from the past when legendary actor Raaj Kumar had thrashed a man for passing a lewd comment on his girlfriend, so much so that the man actually died. The incident took place at Juhu Beach in Mumbai.
Narrating the incident to ANI, Murad said, “Once, Raaj sir was at Juhu beach with a friend and his girlfriend. Someone passed a bad comment about the lady, and Raaj sir got so angry that he beat the man… Itna maara that he died.”
He went on to say, “There was a murder case against Raaj sahab. Because my father was a very good friend of his, he would go to every court hearing to support him.” Murad revealed that the case went on for a long time before the actor ultimately getting acquitted.
Raaj Kumar is regarded as one of the most legendary actors of Hindi cinema. Born as Kulbhushan Pandit, he carved a niche for himself in Bollywood with his unique style of dialogue delivery and distinct voice.
He marked his Bollywood debut in 1952 with the film Rangili. However, it was his 1957 film Mother India which propelled him to overnight fame and success.

He went on to star in several superhits including Dil Ek Mandir, Waqt, Neel Kamal, Hindustan Ki Kasam, and other films. In his career spanning over four decades, he featured in over 70 films.
Raaj Kumar’s health began declining in the 90s, and in 1996, he passed away, leaving his fans bereaved.
