Mumbai: Maharashtra Cyber Cell’s investigation into the India’s Got Latent show controversy has revealed crucial details following the statement recorded from Ranveer Allahbadia. According to sources, Allahbadia confessed to his mistake during interrogation and expressed remorse.
On Monday, during questioning by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, Ranveer Allahbadia admitted to making a serious mistake and apologized for it. Sources revealed that in his official statement, Allahbadia disclosed his close friendship with Samay Raina, which led to his presence on the show. He acknowledged that his controversial remark was inappropriate and should not have been made. He further clarified that he did not receive any payment for appearing on the show and participated purely out of friendship with Samay Raina.
Ashish Chanchlani Also Records Statement
Apart from Allahbadia, content creator Ashish Chanchlani also provided his statement, stating that he participated in the show solely due to his friendship with Samay Raina.
The controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia made a contentious remark about parents on the show, sparking public outrage. Following the backlash, both Khar Police and Maharashtra Cyber Cell registered a case and launched an investigation.
While Allahbadia has given his statement to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, he is yet to appear before Khar Police for further questioning. Both investigative agencies are continuing their probe into the matter.
