The last round of BCCI’s domestic cricket tournament Ranji Trophy is being played at various places across the country. Teams from Mumbai, Delhi, Saurashtra and Kerala have won by the innings. Gujarat defeated Himachal Pradesh by nine wickets to enter the quarter -finals. The Mumbai team defeated the Meghalaya team by a huge margin of an innings and 456 runs.

 

Meghalaya scored 86 and 129 runs. In response, the Mumbai team declared their first innings by scoring 671 runs at the loss of seven wickets. Shardul Thakur of Mumbai, who took a total of eight wickets in the match and scored 84 runs, was declared a player of the match. The Kerala team won the match innings and 169 runs against Bihar. Bihar was all out for 64 and 118 runs in response to 351 runs in Kerala. Delhi also won by an innings and 19 runs against the Railways. The railway team could score only 241 and 114 runs. Delhi scored 374 runs in the first innings. Kohli, who played Ranji match after 12 years, did not get a chance to bat in the second innings and won Delhi. In the Group D match played in Rajkot, Saurashtra team defeated Assam by an innings and 144 runs. In front of 474 runs of Saurashtra, Assam’s team could score 164 and 166 runs. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, who took nine wickets in the match, was declared the man of the match. In the Group B match played at the Gujarat College Ground in Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s team defeated Himachal Pradesh by nine wickets. Gujarat had a target of 144 runs to win the match on the third day, which he achieved by losing the wicket of Urvil Patel (25). Opener Arya Desai scored 69 and Jaymeet Patel scored an unbeaten 51 runs. Jaymeet of Gujarat, who scored a half -century in both innings, was declared the Player of the Match.
