Lord Shri Ram was born to King Dasaratha and Mata Kaushalya on the Navami date of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. This time the holy festival of Ram Navami is being celebrated on 6 April 2025. There is an atmosphere of reverence and devotion in the whole country on this day. All Ram temples across the country, including the Ram temple in Ayodhya, have special worship and hymns and kirtans. Devotees are worshiping Lord Rama from house to house.
Worship in Abhijeet Muhurta is considered auspicious
According to religious beliefs, Lord Shri Ram was born at midday in the Cancer Ascendant and Punarvasu Nakshatra, which is called Abhijeet Muhurta. This is the reason that worshiping Lord Rama on Rama Navami in this Muhurta is considered extremely auspicious. It is believed that by worshiping at this time, devotees get happiness, prosperity, success and desires.

This year, the most auspicious time of worship on the day of Ram Navami is from 11 am to 1:15 pm. Worshiping Ramlala in this period is considered particularly fruitful.
Ram Navami Puja Vidhi and Material
For worship on Ram Navami, first wear white or yellow clothes. Then purify the place of worship with Ganga water. Install the idols or pictures of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman ji at the outpost. Tilak all these with sandalwood, roli and akshat, offer flowers and garlands and light incense.
Then offer seasonal fruits and sweets. Chant the mantras of Lord Rama and recite Ram Raksha Stotra. It is also considered auspicious to recite the chaupis of Shri Ramcharitmanas. Finally perform the aarti and distribute the offerings to all.
