Born as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad in Bangalore, on December 12, 1950, Rajinikanth had his name changed by the director of his debut film, K Balachander, to prevent confusion with the well-known Tamil actor Sivaji Ganesan.
Sivaji-The Boss was the first Tamil film to collect 100 crores worldwide.
Rajinikanth allegedly charges between Rs 150 crore and Rs 210 crore.
Rajinikanth’s possessions extend beyond his residence. He owns a prestigious marriage hall called Raghavendra Mandapam, valued at Rs 20 crore.
Rajinikanth is involved in various philanthropic activities, contributing to causes related to health and education.
Rajinikanth’s 1995 film Muthu was a huge success in Japan, where it was released in 1998 as Muthu – The Dancing Maharaja. He was also the first South Asian actor to be featured in the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.
Padaiyappa marks as Rajinikanth’s 150th film.
Rajinikanth’s mother tongue is Marathi.
