Malabar Hill Club’s experienced cueist Rajeev Sharma registered a straight frame 3-0 win against Arwiend Lakhmana in a second-round qualifying match of the CCI Snooker Classic 2025, an all-India tournament, played at the CCI’s Wilson Jones billiards hall on Thursday. Sharma potted steadily to carve out a 48-20, 59-30, and 56-35 victory to advance to the third round of the competition.

Rushabh Jain also tasted success and progressed to the third round. Jain got the better of seasoned player Amit Sapru in three quick frames by coasting to a 56-12, 55-7, and 65-22 win with a degree of comfort.

In another second-round contest, Suraj Rathi also pulled through by the short route defeating Chetan Mulani 3-0 (58-35, 71-16, and 71-2) to move closer towards qualifying for the main draw.

Meanwhile, Anuj Agarwal was in good form and constructed a half-century break of 50 points in the third frame to hand Jay Patil a 3-0 (64-27, 81-55, and 97-8) defeat in a first round encounter.

Anuj Agarwal beat Jay Patil 3-0 (64-27, 81-55, 97(50)-8);

Sagar Desai beat Anil Sahani 3-2 (57-54, 44-53, 74-49, 48-55, 56-45).
